Cancer Treatment

One of the aspects about cancer that most people are afraid of is the treatment and it's side effects. It's important to use hypnosis in conjunction with the treatment and not as a substitute for medical help.


You have already discussed with the doctors the treatment that is going to take place, they have explained to you about chemotherapy and the possible side effects and you understand all this. So now, when you go for your chemotherapy you can empty your mind of any distracting thoughts or worries and concentrate on using your self hypnosis to complement the treatment they're going to give you, leaving the doctors and nurses to do what they are trained to do - fight those cancer cells with powerful medicines.

You already hate those cancer cells for invading your body and you're ready for war. You are a fighter, ready to do battle and you're going to fight that cancer every step of the way - in a clever way - using your own powerful imagination to heal your body.

I'm sure that, if terrorists invaded your home and you called in the police you wouldn't be too worried about any mess the police made - all you'd want is for the police to do their job and get rid of those terrorists. If chairs were knocked over or mud trailed over your carpet you wouldn't be too bothered, because these things can be replaced, all you're concerned with right now is your life, and you can put up with a bit of disruption if this is going to get rid of those terrorists once and for all.

And you know that some of these powerful medicines may try to play tricks on your body, but you're ready for them if they do, because you understand that this is just a possible reaction that your body may have to the drugs and that's okay, because the main thing is that those drugs are there to kill off those cancer cells.

One of the sensations may be the feeling of something in your stomach that shouldn't be there, but you know that in reality everything is exactly how it should be. If your body is fooled into thinking there's something there that shouldn't be, you are prepared for it. You relax your whole body, just like you have done today, and you concentrate on your dominant hand and imagine a warm and possibly tingly sensation flowing into your hand. You can do this by imagining that you're warming your hands by a lovely, blazing log fire on a cold winter day and feel that heat spreading into your hand, your palm and the fingers and tips. And when you can feel that warmth you can bring your hand up and place it onto your stomach and feel the sensations just easing and melting away, like a hard lump of butter in a pan on the stove, just melting and soothing and easing away. You can feel the relief that it brings to you.

Some people say they experience a strange taste in the mouth, and that's okay, it is just a taste, and should your body think it can taste something there that shouldn't be there, you are ready for it. You simply imagine a fresh lemon being cut into slices, and as you're cutting it you can see the juice beginning to squirt out of the lemon, and you can imagine putting that lemon up to your mouth and you take a bite of that tangy lemon. It is sour, like lemons are, but it's fresh and it makes your mouth feel clean again. And as you bite into the lemon the taste that was there before is replaced by the tangy, clean, juicy lemony taste.

If you feel nauseous sometimes then you ride with it. Imagine you're a ship on the ocean riding the waves - you're on top of the waves - you're the captain of the ship, you're in control - it doesn't bother you because you know it will pass - and if there's anything that needs to be brought up then it will be brought up, because you know that when you vomit it's your body's way of expelling what it needs to be rid of to make you feel better - and you do feel better for bringing it up.

Some people experience hair loss with chemotherapy and again, you don't mind this because you know that it means that those powerful drugs are acting inside you - for you - to rid your body of those cancer cells. And just like that muddy carpet, your hair can be replaced as your body gets better and new, thick hair can grow in its place.

You have all these tools to help you to fight any possible side effects of your medication and treatment and you can use any of these whenever you wish. And sometimes you may just feel like retreating and going to your own special place, your favorite place - maybe a beach or a garden or somewhere in the country - wherever you like to be - and at these times you just relax as you let the healing take place. Whatever part of your body needs to be healed - let it be healed, gently, easily, as you relax and let go of any worries or cares.

And I want you to go to your favorite place now, picture the scene, perhaps a beautiful day, the sounds or aromas, or maybe a special touch - whatever you like. Just enjoy your special place for a few minutes more whilst I'm quiet.

And when you're ready - in your own special time, bring yourself back and feel fresh and relaxed and calm as I count to five.

bende geçmişte ( geçmişte derken 2 sene önce zaten ne kadarlık bi geçmişim var ki şu kısa ömrümde :P) kanser tedavisi gördüm. genç olduğum için ordaki çoğu insandan daha dirençli çıktım yan etkilere karşı. ama yine de her ilaç almaya gidişim benim için bir azaptı ve ölümdü resmen. keşke bu telkini o zaman öğrenmiş olsaymışım kesin dinlerdim ve çok yararını görürdüm zannımca. ama bi şekilde atlatıldı o dönem şimdi tekrarlamasın diye kanseri defet telkinini dinliyorum.
hiç bir şey için geç değil. sonuçta tanıştım ya sizlerle. bundan sonraki zamanlarımda faydasını görürüm bende telkinlerin.
